Architectural Project Designer
We’re currently seeking a Architectural Project Designer to join our Headquarters team!
In this role you will be working with the Store Development team and other stakeholders as it relates to projects, to provide innovative and functional designs for redevelopment and renovation projects. These projects would include interior and exterior rebranding, modifications to site layout and other such tenant improvement construction. We are looking for a candidate with experience and education in commercial design, CAD drafting, and a working understanding of ‘Americans with Disabilities Act’ requirements, who can also manage a project from conception to completion.
What you would do:
- Using established design processes and technologies, creating preliminary concepts, draft and sketch design plans to graphically communicate ideas effectively
- Presenting preliminary concepts and designs to stakeholders, and further developing those designs based on their feedback
- Creating technical drawings using AutoCAD to clearly show all structural and code related changes to existing spaces, while improving the flow, function, and aesthetics
- Work closely with the authorities having jurisdiction to address local codes and zoning requirements
- Coordinate with project consultants such as civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers, as well as vendors and other design professionals, to complete construction documents on time and within budget
- Working in conjunction with the Development & Construction team to assist in expediting cost estimates and schedules
- Work closely with General Contractor and Sub-Contractors to oversee installation of design elements
- Review material submittals and address RFI’s in a timely manner
- Provide weekly and monthly planning metrics on schedule status, baseline maintenance
- Maintaining close communications and a good working relationship with the Field Operations team and other stakeholders to review progress, and discuss alternatives or modifications when problems are encountered during implementation
How you will shine:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in commercial design with the ability to create construction documents that effectively communicate design ideas
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project or similar project management software system
- Proficiency with SketchUp or other 3-D modeling programs a plus
- Experience with project cost estimation
- Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deliverables and competing timelines
- Hard working and acts with a sense of urgency to accomplish key objectives
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Car wash experience is a plus
