Systems Engineer - Power Distribution
The Systems Engineer – Power Distribution is responsible for the management and promotion of Rockwell Automation and Technology Partner Products to address customer automation needs within municipal and commercial infrastructure projects such as the Water/Waste Water Industry. Rockwell Automation Core products include PowerFlex Variable Frequency Drives and Motor Control Centers.
Pre-Sale Responsibilities include:
- Prepares an annual Business Plan that analyzes the industry segment, which identifies strategic customers, develops promotional activities, and establishes industry segment goals.
- Works with the Mc-Mc Engineering, Operations, and Sales resources to develop the customer base including municipalities, engineering firms, system integrators, and contractors.
- Works with Sales to identify and qualify strategic target accounts to grow the industry segment.
- Develops and supports integrated product solutions that address the application needs at the strategic target accounts.
- Utilizes customer relationships and documented activities to leverage the value-add activities provided to the strategic target accounts.
- Establishes a business relationship with the vendors for the industry segment to determine growth opportunities in the local market.
- Provides assistance in the preparation of pricing estimates and quotation activities for the industry segment.
Post-Sale Responsibilities include:
- Manages customer satisfaction and the performance of the products and solutions at the strategic target accounts.
- Provides project management support for Sales and Engineering personnel within the industry segment.
- Works with the vendors to develop and maintain a quality customer relationship.
- Documents the sales growth within the industry segment at the identified strategic accounts.
- Develops and maintains the information and support infrastructure required for the industry segment.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities include:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Technology in a related technical field required.
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience in related sales, services, and solutions required; 5+ years of professional experience in the key responsibilities detailed above considered in lieu of the meeting the educational requirement.
- Knowledge of strategic customer applications.
- Commercial skills in working with the vendors and customers on service and support issues.
- Proven analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
