CLERK TECH, Emergency Department, PRN/Casual

Memorial Community Hospital & Health System (MCH), located in Blair, Nebraska, is currently seeking a skilled Clerk Tech (CNA or EMT) to join our Emergency Department team. As a Clerk Tech, you will play a vital role in initiating the registration and admission process for patients presenting to the Emergency Department. Your responsibilities will include interviewing patients or their representatives, completing accurate data entry for registration, and assisting with patient care under the supervision of nursing personnel.

Job Summary

• Shift Details: PRN position
• Function within the scope of practice defined by Nebraska state regulations as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
• Conduct patient interviews and enter data accurately to ensure complete and accurate registration.
• Answer phones, direct visitors, and greet all patients, visitors, and staff to the department in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner.
• Assist in the care of both emergent and non-emergent patients under the direct supervision of ED nurses and providers.
• Stay updated on "on-call" lists and the method for contacting employees and providers.
• Prepare and maintain department inventory and supplies, ensuring proper storage and restocking.
• Assist with the delivery of lab specimens and other items as necessary.
• Disinfect patient rooms according to current infection control guidelines between patients.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician in the state of Nebraska.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
