The May Institute is seeking an Assistant Program Director at Western Massachusetts. This is a full-time position that includes Monday through Friday (8:30-4:30) with on-call duties on weekend rotations.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure residential programs meet all regulatory and procedural standards  
  • Supervise Program Coordinators  
  • Oversee residential operations related (but not limited) to:   
  • Maintenance and appearance of assigned programs   
  • Regulatory compliance 
  • Resident care and support 
  • Staff scheduling, recruitment, training, and performance management  
  • Manage vacancies and overtime utilization within assigned residences  
  • Share on-call responsibilities  
  • Manage documentation related to licensing  
  • Participate in a variety of meetings as required 
  • Work collaboratively with multiple teams and families  
  • Assist in the development and implementation of initiatives 
 

Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred
  • Three years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and implementing physical intervention strategies (e.g., Safety Care) 
  • Three years of Supervisory experience managing programs. 
  • Experience in Human Services program management and supervision. 
  • Ability to lead a team and supervise 4 to 6 program coordinators 
  • Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills  
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to independently travel between sites
