Position: Quality Assurance Analyst Team Lead, Automation

 

Hours of Work:

Monday through Friday: 8:30AM-5:00PM

 

Full-time, Exempt

Supervisory Responsibility: Quality Assurance Automation Team

 

In This Role, You Will…

Lead a team of QA Automation engineers, driving the development and implementation of effective automation testing strategies. Design and maintain robust test automation frameworks that align with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies. Collaborating closely with the manual QA team, coordinate testing efforts to ensure comprehensive coverage and oversee the delivery of high-quality software products by continuously improving testing processes and tools. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring best practices are followed, and work cross-functionally with development and product teams to drive quality and efficiency throughout the development process.

 

Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

  • Provide leadership for and manage the QA automation team, ensuring optimal performance and driving achievement of team goals. Provide training and supervision to ensure all assigned tasks are completed on time and accurately while maintaining compliance with company policies. 
  • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive test automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, and Cucumber in both web and mobile environments.
  • Develop automation strategies to ensure maximum test coverage for each sprint and release cycle, aligned with Agile processes.
  • Collaborate with developers and business stakeholders to ensure complete understanding of test case and business requirements.
  • Review and validate use cases and test plans to ensure they meet the defined business requirements.
  • Ensure the execution of automated test cases and troubleshoot any issues in the automation scripts or environment.
  • Analyze test results, generate reports, and provide feedback to stakeholders on testing progress and quality status.
  • Manage defect tracking processes, ensuring issues are documented, prioritized, and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless deployment processes.
  • Create and maintain a knowledge base of automation best practices and share insights with the QA team.
  • Oversee both functional and non-functional testing, including performance, security, and API testing.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and develop strategies for improvements.
  • Conduct strategy sessions with our partners and service providers and actively participate in the implementation of both new vendor software, new versions of software with our existing vendors, and future planning sessions with our partners and vendors regarding future projects with them.
  • Participate in after-hours monitoring rotation for user support.
  • Coordinate with management on team administrative matters such as performance appraisals and goal setting, promotions, salary recommendations, and terminations in accordance with the company hiring process, personnel policies, and budget requirements.
  • Promote the professional growth and development of individual team members through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and providing consistent, actionable feedback in periodic reviews.
  • May perform additional functions depending on market demand and staffing in order to provide consistent quality customer service.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, MIS, BIS, or related field of study; additional, applicable years of experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, with a focus on automation testing.
  • Expertise in automation testing using Java and tools like Selenium, Cucumber, and TestNG.
  • Experience with API testing tools like Postman, REST Assured, or SOAPUI.
  • Experience with Mobile App Automation using Appium.
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in creating and executing automation test plans for both functional and regression testing.
  • Experience with performing Functional testing, Smoke testing, Regression testing, Integration testing, Positive and Negative testing, System testing and End to End testing of Web Based Applications.
  • Extensive experience with GitHub, including repository management, version control, and code review workflows.
  • Experience integrating automation scripts with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins.
  • Experience troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing automation scripts for efficiency.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong ability to troubleshoot and identify issues within a user interface.
  • Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of users and teammates both written and verbally.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret requirements and file layouts into test cases and automated scripts in accordance with approved test plans.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to produce status reports and communicate status of projects on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work with shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word, & Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and notation skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience leading Quality Assurance teams or projects, working in capacities with decision-making authority, coordinating and delegating multiple responsibilities, and managing operations activities.
  • Advanced certifications such as ISTQB Automation Tester, Certified Agile Tester (CAT), or equivalent.
  • Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
  • Experience with the Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with Sauce Labs.
  • Knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience of containerization and Docker.

 

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to move about. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty (20) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation: $109,000-$125,000 (commensurate with experience) + Bonus
