What You’ll Do
The Social Services team provides support and referral services to “at risk” population in subsidized multifamily properties. These services promote and enable independent living and aging in place to prevent premature or unnecessary institutionalization. The intern will work as part of on-site management team working under the direct supervision of the Senior Social Services Coordinator and Director of Social Services.
L+M offers a comprehensive intern program. During the ten-week program, interns will gain exposure to the industry, tour several jobsites, and make a presentation on lessons learned to senior management. Specific duties will vary depending on the team but include tasks similar to these:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend weekly and monthly case management meetings as assigned.
- Assist with liaising with community agencies, network with community providers, and seeking out new services available to clients.
- Assist with linking residents to desired or required supportive services in the general community.
- Assist with completing resident folders as required.
- Assist with small special projects as needed.
Who We Want
- Rising Senior undergraduate student studying Psychology, Social Work, Sociology Criminal Justice, or related field.
- Self-starter who has a track record of being able to manage tasks independently.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate effectively (expression or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken or written word).
- Positive outgoing attitude and excellent customer service skills.
- Highly organized, patient, thorough, demonstrate a committed work ethic, and eager to work as part of a team.
