What You’ll Do

 

Assist L+M Legal team on a variety of assignments.  L+M attorneys and paralegals are involved in every aspect of the company’s operations.  We help to structure and negotiate the acquisition, investment, finance, construction, operation, leasing and management of the L+M portfolio.  We do this while being mindful of all governmental regulatory requirements—affordable housing is a highly regulated field—and look out for the best interests of L+M at all times. 

L+M offers a comprehensive intern program.  During the ten-week program, interns will gain exposure to the industry, tour several jobsites, and make a presentation on lessons learned to senior management. Specific duties will vary depending on the team but include tasks similar to these:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend meetings with L+M counsel
  • Assist on legal research projects, with supervision
  • Assist in the preparation for closings of real estate transactions (acquisition, disposition, financing, construction, leasing)
  • Draft correspondence and other memoranda
  • Help us stay organized!

 

Who We Want

 

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.  
  • Pursuing a graduate college degree/law degree.  
  • Interested and highly motivated candidate with a demonstrated interest in community development, affordable housing and/or real estate investment.
