Property Operations Data Analyst (Property Operations)

Areas of Responsibility and Job Requirements
The Data Analyst will handle large sets of data and generate monthly reporting to the executive team and the New York City Housing Authority "NYCHA"). He/she must be passionate about affordable housing, and public policy.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Gather, draft, analyze and submit required regulatory reports to NYCHA on a monthly basis.
- Work with all relevant stakeholders, including but not limited to, staff at the various Public Affordability Commitment Together “PACT” sites and partner social service providers, on gathering the necessary data to compile required reports.
- Analyze trends based on work order submissions and reports issued to NYCHA.
- Draft presentations for L&M and C&C management for both internal and external audiences.
- Guide colleagues’ interpretation and communication with data analysis and outputs.
- Provide assistance on special projects as needed.
Minimum Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, urban studies, data or similar field preferred
Minimum Years of Experience Required:
- 2-3+ years’ experience in affordable housing community development, real estate management, or related work is required.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office; intermediate to advance level of MS Excel, required.
- Perform absolutely/relative cell references, analysis and multi-sheet Excel operations.
- Scrubb and clean up raw data sets.
- Proficiency in Yardi, preferred.
- ability to manage and analyze large datasets.
- Ability to synthesize complex ideas and deliver them in written communications, verbal presentations, and visualizations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to independently validate data integrity and analysis results.
- Passion for and desire to learn housing and real estate issues relevant to New York City
- Ability to deliver high-quality work products on strict deadlines
Competencies/Essential Job Functions:
This position consists mainly of sedentary work. The position may require exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. The role involves sitting most of the time.
The incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: viewing a computer; extensive reading and visual inspection involving small defects. The incumbent is also required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
- This role frequently requires incumbent to talk and hear, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken work and the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make distinctions in sound.
- This role occasionally requires incumbent to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawling, reach, stand for long periods of time, walk, push, pull, feel and touch objects with fingers, palm, and hands and to lift up to 10 pounds.
Work Environment:
The incumbent may occasionally be subject to environmental conditions (protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes.
The incumbent may occasionally be subject to noise sufficient to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the noise or vibration.
