SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of the Manufacturing Engineer II is to provide technical support for internal processes, continuous improvement, and customers. This will include evaluating and improving manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards.

• Helps drive quality and continuous improvement activities such as LEAP, SPC, Lean Manufacturing and cost saving projects and associated metrics.
• Evaluate and recommend new and upgraded equipment and software.
• Actively identify new opportunities for process improvement as well as, identifying opportunities for automation within current manufacturing processes and systems, to achieve increased efficiency and/or cost savings.
• Coordinate with and through support teams and/or Suppliers to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable time frame, scope, and budget.
• Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that manufacturer’s procedures and instructions are followed in order to keep production equipment operational.
• Provide technical training and support in the use of applications and/or processes according to organizational needs and/or requirements.
• Research equipment or component needs and makes recommendations, sources competitive prices, delivery times, or ongoing operational costs; initiates request for proposals (RFP’s).
• Collaborate with production management to analyze data and site metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Coordinates the analysis and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing and inspection equipment.
• Coordinates product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
• Mentors and coaches Production and Quality personnel with best practices and skill set expertise.
• Able to identify, perform and troubleshoot tools in manufacturing for improved quality and tool life.
• Assist with processing new or redesigned parts and manufacturing processes.
• Participates in Problem Solving Meetings as needed.
• Responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures always.
• Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by helping to establish objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.
• Implements and suggests waste elimination initiatives such as recycling opportunities for paper or material waste.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering
• 3 to 5 years’ experience as a manufacturing engineer required
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work within a team. Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing knowledge experience a plus.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and sampling theory.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic mainframe computer systems knowledge and be familiar with Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
