General Counsel Legacy Health Services

Position Summary

The General Counsel leads strategic growth and provides legal advice, focusing on corporate matters.

Essential Functions

• Advise on legal and business issues.
• Lead risk management for all entities within the business.
• Train and educate staff on legal and risk management practices.
• Manage litigation and work with outside counsel.
• Draft and review legal documents.
• Develop policies and procedures, including those related to safety, communication, and support.
• Assist with legal matters to reduce outside attorney expense.
• Negotiate settlements and vendor agreements.
• Monitor corporate compliance and insurance.
• Ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including those related to all areas within the business operation.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree with an active Ohio law license or eligibility to join the Ohio bar.
• 3-5 years' experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
• Experience in corporate finance and administration.
• Experience with nursing home operations is preferred.
