Job Title: Assistant Manager - Warehouse
Location: Marlee Warehouse (Denver, CO)
Reports To: David Bloom
Job Summary: The Assistant Manager - Warehouse is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operations of the warehouse, ensuring that inventory is managed properly, and that all warehouse processes align with company standards and policies. This role involves maintaining inventory accuracy, shipping and receiving, coordinating with customers and suppliers, making deliveries and ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warehouse Operations:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the warehouse including but not limited to: shipping and receiving, slotting and selection, counting, delivery and distribution.
- Ensure that all warehouse processes are performed efficiently and accurately.
- Implement and monitor procedures for the safe and effective handling of inventory.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper stock levels.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Coordinate with purchasing and other departments to manage inventory levels and forecast needs.
- Team Management:
- Supervise and train warehouse staff, including hiring, scheduling, and performance management.
- Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork and professional development.
- Ensure that all employees adhere to safety and operational guidelines.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards or issues.
- Ensure proper maintenance of warehouse equipment and facilities.
- Supplier and Logistics Coordination:
- Liaise with suppliers and transportation partners to manage deliveries and shipments.
- Coordinate logistics to ensure timely and accurate distribution of goods.
- Resolve any issues related to delivery schedules, order discrepancies, or product returns.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and operational issues.
- Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Implement solutions to optimize warehouse operations and enhance efficiency.
- Customer Service:
- Address any issues or concerns related to inventory and deliveries.
- Work with store management (customer) to ensure that customer needs are met and that the supply chain runs smoothly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in warehouse management, preferably in a grocery store or retail environment.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Strong understanding of inventory management, logistics, and warehouse operations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to use warehouse management software and other relevant technology.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in a warehouse setting.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to [specific weight] pounds) and perform physical tasks related to warehouse work.
- Capability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (certification may be required).
Work Environment:
- The role is based in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and conditions.
- May require occasional weekend or evening work to accommodate operational needs.
