GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK

Reports to the Office Manager or Supervisor on duty. Responsibilities include any assignment areas deemed necessary by the supervisor, childcare, and front desk. Any duties assigned by the manager on duty.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reports to the Office Manager or Supervisor on duty.
  • Assists in the daily supervision of patrons within the Facility ensuring their safety by enforcing facility rules and regulations.
  • Launders, stores, and stocks all cleaning supplies for front desk area.
  • Cleans and maintains all non-fitness equipment in the front desk area (windows, mirrors, floors, etc)
  • Responsible for all member and non-member fitness orientations.
  • May include equipment facility tours, cleaning, rule enforcement, or other duties directly assigned by supervisor.
  • Responds to citizen complaints or inquiries regarding facility operations and programs.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of the services rendered by other public and voluntary agencies in the community, with emphasis on recreation and related services. Good with public relations skills.
  • Ability to work with others and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
  • Ability to deal with the public, supervisors, and associates in an effective and pleasing manner.
  • Ability to employ problem-solving skills in resolving facility operation situations that might arise.
  • Ability to appear on time for work and notify the appropriate individual if unable to work.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a good working relationship with employees and the public.
  • Ability to organize work in detail and communicate in a clear, concise, and convincing manner. 

EDUCATIONS

A minimum of an 8th education is required.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 1 year experience in fitness related work is preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT, REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required having full use of auditory and visual capacities, of which include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance for extended periods of time, and have full use of hands to fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Be able to continually lift 50lbs. or more.

Work environment will be in an indoor setting.
