POSITION  DESCRIPTION

 

TITLE OF POSITION:         Prospector (New Business Development)                  

REPORTS TO:                    Sales Manager

DEPARTMENT:                   Sales

                  

 

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

 

1)   GENERAL PURPOSE

Prospect new business customers by calling warm leads by telephone making outbound 100 dials per day, to acquire new business and maximize sales

 

2)  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

Call business warm leads to sell Leanin’ Tree product to them.
Work to increase sales by:

  • Prospecting, developing, and selling to warm leads making a minimum of 100 outbound calls a day
  • Up-selling and cross-selling inbound orders. Quickly and accurately complete inbound calls by servicing, selling, or redirecting the call to the appropriate resource
  • Master a 6-step sales process to qualify and sell to the customer's needs.
  • Build new account opportunities by asking for referrals

 

Meet daily, weekly, monthly, and annual department and individual revenue goals

Use an account management system to retain and grow revenues from assigned

account base.  Accurately maintain customer files by updating information in

           the database, deleting inactive and duplicate accounts and establishing

           appropriate call cycles. 

Provide information and customer service to accounts as needed   

Process all orders and resolve customer issues ethically and with zero defects.
Keep current on all product information and promotions and accurately relay the same to the customer. 

Participate in sales meetings and training sessions, and engage in on-going self-development activities

Obtain complete and current credit references on all new and existing accounts and work with the credit department to ensure timely release of orders new customers

 

3)   OTHER FUNCTIONS

1.  Participate in planning and assembling product displays.

2.  Participate on work teams.

3.  Develop information modules that increase their own skills and knowledge as well as the team's skills and knowledge.

4.  Other duties as assigned.

6)   EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

            High School Graduate: some college preferred

One to two years’ successful telephone prospecting and sales experience or equivalent.

 

7) MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED

8)  WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL SKILLS NEEDED

Indoor office environment

Ability to sit for 8 hours while typing on a computer keyboard

Ability to speak articulately for 8 hours

Hand/eye coordination and visual acuity in near/mid ranges

Manual dexterity using both hands and fingers to type on a keyboard and dial phone, reaching with arms/hands

Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

 

Base Salary Range: $31827.00 to $43328.00 annually

Target commission opportunity:    $20,000.00 to $60,000.00 annually
