SUMMARY OF THE JOB:
The Network Engineer is a member of the CTO organization focused on providing modern and scalable technology solutions to Liberty Bank. In this role you will maintain the Bank’s network related infrastructure impacting the reliability, performance, and security of our LAN/WAN environments. The Network Engineer contributes to the team by working on projects, troubleshooting network problems, resolving tickets, and creating network documentation, while maintaining current knowledge and understanding of networking and security best practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support of overall network infrastructure – Install, configure, manage, and troubleshoot network and security devices and services, such as routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless access points, etc.
- Diagnose, solve and deliver root cause analysis for critical incidents and problems.
- Provide advanced level technical support for network related hardware and software including virtual hardware and cloud.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance and connectivity issues.
- Perform maintenance and upgrades for network related systems while adhering to the Bank’s standards and applicable business requirements.
- Collaborate with internal team members and third parties to resolve network related incidents.
- Follows all Change Management processes and contributes to Incident and Problem Management.
- Monitors system performance levels and develops appropriate alerting and reporting processes.
- Proactively identifies issues and communicates effectively with management to develop solutions.
- Creates and maintains documentation related to network architecture, configuration, and procedures.
- Provides technical leadership and oversight to the network operations team.
- Ensures all Bank IT and Security policies and procedures are being followed.
- Provide on-call support.
Minimum knowledge/skills:
- College degree is preferred
- Min of 5 years of experience demonstrating a progressive career path in network administration/engineering.
- Intermediate knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, OSPF, MPLS, BGP, EIGRP)
- Experienced with Cisco HW/SW and best practices. (Routers, Switches, Firewalls)
- Familiar with network security technologies (e.g., Firewalls, VPNs, DDoS, Web filtering)
- Proficient with network monitoring, reporting, and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Solarwinds, Wireshark, Scrutinizer)
- Knowledge and experience with DHCP, DNS, and certificate management.
- Experience working with Aruba wireless solutions and SAN/NAS storage environments.
- Familiar optimizing audio/video conferencing solutions utilizing QOS, and traffic shaping.
- Working knowledge of Azure cloud networking
- Previous telephony experience with VoIP, CUCM, SIP, Microsoft Teams calling a plus
- Ability to work well within a team environment and independently.
- Excellent written and oral communications, problem solving, and process management skills.
- CCNA/CCNP certifications a plus.
