OVERALL OBJECTIVE: 
 
The Senior Relationship Manager is responsible for identifying, soliciting, closing and managing commercial relationships, primarily for the C&I needs of companies with between $5MM and $50MM in revenue.  The incumbent will structure, negotiate, obtain credit approval, and close on lending and deposit business in the Bank’s Western Massachusetts market area in compliance with the Liberty Bank’s policies and risk profile.  He or she will cross-sell all of the Bank’s products and services as appropriate and represent Liberty Bank in the communities we serve. 

 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
  • Client-focused, provides a high level of customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills which are required to communicate effectively with prospects, customers COIs and bank personnel.
  • Strong credit and analytical skills and attention to detail.  Significant experience in financial statement and tax return analysis.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-task.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal banking regulations and bank policies and procedures.
  • Experience in CRA and Community Development Loan extensions of credit a plus.

PRINICPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:  

  • Engage in business development activities and solicit new business in the Bank’s target market.
  • Manage and calls on existing customers to maintain appropriate credit quality, plan for future client needs, and cross-sell appropriate bank products.
  • Develop prospect lists, develop and maintain COIs, solicit new customer relationships.
  • Gather all financial information needed to underwrite new debt, conduct initial reviews of financial information and loan requests, work with the Credit Department to spread and model financial information, develop new credit requests, present them to internal decision-makers, propose and close on loan and deposit solutions.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: 
Established C&I Relationship Manager with a minimum 5 years of experience, strong knowledge of the Bank’s market area, established existing customer and COI base.  Bachelor’s or advanced degree from a college or university or comparable detailed experience.  Thorough knowledge of commercial banking, including credit analysis, deposit and cash management products, regulatory requirements, and government guaranteed lending.  Fluency with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  


PHYISICAL DEMANDS: 
Ability to work in an office environment, including typing, speaking, listening, walking, and lifting (generally not more than 10 pounds).  Ability to travel by car throughout Connecticut for internal and external meetings, site visits, tours, and training.
