Additionally, we provide Functional Service Provider (FSP) Solutions, supporting our clients with scientific and technical expertise, acting as an extension of their team, coordinating all laboratory related needs, advising on strategies for lab data collection and providing end-to-end analytical and logistical solutions. 

The Manager, Project Management is a key role in the Client Services organization and within an assigned client segment. The Manager, Project Management is responsible for leading a team of project managers and support staff to deliver on study-specific client commitments. Study support requirements vary in size, scope and complexity, requiring a nimble approach to optimize execution across the team. The Manager, Project Management oversees the operational aspects of study initiation and/or ongoing studies and serves as an initial escalation point for issue management and resolution.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Set and manage client expectations. Refine and utilize project methodologies to ensure on-time client deliverables.
  • Establish trusted-advisor relationships with clients – with a focus on service excellence and growth. Lead and participate in client meetings / business reviews.
  • Partner with business development and Client Services peers on the initiation, management, planning and growth of clients.
  • Hire (as needed), directly manage, coach, and develop a project management, amendments (as applicable), and support team members.
  • Assess client/study needs and assign appropriate team members.
  • Monitor and manage team-member productivity and performance. Hold team accountable for performance.
  • Measure and monitor real-time client health, drive on-time study start up, and ensure effective study management through to close.
  • Identify and lead the implementation of ongoing process efficiencies resulting in measurable service delivery improvements.
  • Ensure accurate and complete time capture by team.
  • Act as client advocate within LabConnect and liaise with internal stakeholders.
  • Support client audits and liaise with lab network (as needed).

 

Education, Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field required
  • 2 - 5 years of client management experience in a central lab, contract research organization, and/or sponsor environment, preferably 4+
  • 2+ years of experience managing a team
  • Strong leadership, presence, judgement, overall communication, and client-engagement skills to effectively operate at the executive level
  • Excellent organization and problem-solving skills, adept at stress management
  • Thrives in building highly effective teams; possesses strong people management skills
  • Solution-oriented approach to assessing and resolving issues/escalations in a timely manner
  • Clinical trial research industry expertise and strategic perspective on marketplace dynamics
  • Proactive, strategic thinking and planning
  • Global work experience with teams and clients across cultures and time zones preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel, with the ability to learn and master company specific HR systems
