Temp, Procurement Specialist - Scientific Operations

We are an independent, global, one-stop-shop focused on delivering Central Laboratory Services that are tailor-made, timely and flexible to meet the evolving study demands of traditional to increasingly complex trials. Additionally, we provide Functional Service Provider (FSP) Solutions, supporting our clients with scientific and technical expertise, acting as an extension of their team, coordinating all laboratory related needs, advising on strategies for lab data collection and providing end-to-end analytical and logistical solutions.
The Temp, Procurement Specialist as part of FSP Solutions will be responsible for providing contract management oversight to a biopharmaceutical client tasked with providing support in all aspects of purchasing goods and services, e.g., obtaining vendor quotes, statements of work preparation, purchase order submission, invoice resolution, and ensuring compliance with client policy and procedures. This position will be supporting the department through March 31, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Manage procurement to payment process with biopharmaceutical client.
- Manage requests for service, confirm budget availability, manage vendor cost tables, validate invoices, and prepare reports as needed.
- Submit requests for CDAs and provide follow up with the legal department and to requesting parties.
- Provide support in all aspects of purchasing goods and service (e.g., obtaining vendor quotes, statement of work preparation, purchase order submission, and invoice resolution).
- Ensure compliance with client policies and procedures.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent degree preferred.
- 2 years of industry-relevant purchasing and/or contract management experience required.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with vendors and high profile clients.
- Experience in purchasing or contract administration and understanding all aspects of the contracting process.
- Ability to establish strong working relationships with a wide range of people. The candidate will be a team player, but also have the ability to work independently.
- Well-organized and capable of meeting deadlines.
- Cross-functional and cross-site team management experience.
- Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Clinical Practices (GCP)
- Common and specialized computer software application proficiency and adaptability, including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint; experience with Smartsheet and SAP is preferred.
- Very high attention to detail and excellent multi-tasking skills is required for success in this position.
Working Hours/Location/Benefits:
- 100% remote with the ability to work core west coast business hours
- This position is a contract/temp role, expected to end on March 31, 2025
