Power BI Developer

Additionally, we provide Functional Service Provider (FSP) Solutions, supporting our clients with scientific and technical expertise, acting as an extension of their team, coordinating all laboratory related needs, advising on strategies for lab data collection and providing end-to-end analytical and logistical solutions.
Summary
The Power BI Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust data visualizations and dashboards that support our laboratory operations and enhance our client reporting capabilities. Your work will play a key role in driving data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Report Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights for laboratory operations and client needs.
- Data Integration: Collaborate with data engineers to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
- Data Modeling: Create and optimize data models that facilitate efficient reporting and analysis, with a focus on lab-specific metrics and KPIs.
- User Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, including laboratory staff and management, to gather requirements and understand reporting needs.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of reports and dashboards, implementing optimizations to enhance speed and user experience.
- Documentation: Maintain clear documentation for BI processes, data sources, and reporting standards to ensure consistency and compliance with industry regulations.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users, helping them effectively utilize Power BI for their reporting and analytical needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in data analytics and visualization, proposing enhancements to our BI tools and methodologies.
Education/Experience/Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Power BI development, data visualization, or business intelligence, preferably in a laboratory or healthcare environment.
- Experience with other BI tools (Tableau, QlikView, etc.).
- Knowledge of data visualization best practices specific to scientific data.
- Proficiency in Power BI Services, BI Desktop, Power Query, DAX.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation, particularly with large datasets typical in laboratory settings.
- Experience with data modeling and warehousing concepts, data transformation tools relevant to lab data management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Familiarity with laboratory regulations and standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP) is a plus.
Working Location/Hours:
- 100% remote
- Standard east coast business hours
