Kurt Manufacturing is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Inspector II to join our team at our Die Cast Division in Fridley, MN. The Inspector II is responsible for accurately checking and inspecting incoming materials, in-process parts, and finished products to ensure conformance with company quality standards and customer specifications.
The ideal candidate will possess at least 2 years of relevant experience, including proficiency with various inspection tools and hands-on experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). This individual will also demonstrate strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work effectively individually and as a team.
Compensation
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $25.00 to $32.50. The exact rate may be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, and education.
Essential Functions
- May provide receiving, in-process and final inspection for quality, appearance and performance of complicated equipment, instruments or products, or of diversified parts and assemblies using precision testing equipment, including CMM, micrometers, calipers, etc.
- Interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to determine production standards and tolerance limits.
- Test finished products for dimensions, fit, surface finish, and appearance.
- Complete all required records and paperwork to include inspection reports, non-conforming material tags, and return material notices.
- Analyze inspection results and assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from existing standards.
- Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
- May be required to devise unusual measuring or gauging set-ups.
- May make periodic spot checks of variety of parts in progress for adherence to specifications.

Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- 2 years of related experience
Preferred
- Associate’s degree
- 4 years of related experience
- CMM Metrosoft or PC DMIS experience

Kurt Die Casting features 20 CNC machining centers and 15 die casting machines ranging in size from 500 to 1,200 tons.
