Kurt Manufacturing is seeking two CNC Operator I's to join our team at our Die Cast Division in Fridley, MN.  The CNC Operator I is responsible for operating and adjusting semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled machine tools to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations where programs are provided, and setups are often made and maintained by others.

 

Shift:  1st Shift:  5:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday

 

Compensation:  

The anticipated starting pay rate for this position is $19.67 to $25.50. The exact salary may be based on a combination of factors including the knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, and education.

 

Essential Functions

  • Adjusts and operates semi-automatic CNC machines with minimum supervision
  • Spot-checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications, using micrometers and precision dial gauges.

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • 2 years of related experience
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and routings

The worker will occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time):

  • Stoop by bending body downward and forward requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles
  • Kneel by bending legs at knees to come to rest on knee(s)
  • Crouch by bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine
  • Perceive attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touch
  • Hear by perceiving the nature of sounds by ear
  • Adjust vision to bring objects into sharp focus
  • Identify and distinguish colors

 

100% employee owned, Kurt Die Casting is a division of Kurt Manufacturing and located near Minneapolis, MN. Employees at our die casting facility can gain experience in multiple areas of manufacturing including aluminum and zinc die casting, CNC machining, automation, and quality control. We have over 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space with the capacity and capability to service a diverse set of customers and industries. Kurt Die Casting features 20 CNC machining centers and 15 die casting machines ranging in size from 500 to 1,200 tons. Many of the castings we produce feature challenging designs that require secondary operations such as machining, finishing and assembly.
