BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
The Pricing Manager will develop, implement, and manage both short and long-term pricing strategies, processes, and infrastructure for Kubota Tractor Corporation. As the in-house expert on pricing matters, this individual will drive pricing best practices across the organization, collaborating closely with various teams, including Finance, Sales, and Marketing, to enhance overall sales and profitability.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines:
- Identify and develop short-term tactical pricing opportunities along with related implementation plans.
- Conduct monthly price execution analysis (Waterfall analysis) in collaboration with Finance to optimize revenue and margin.
- Review current pricing processes and recommend improvements for efficiency, with clear timelines and points of ownership.
- Explore opportunities for enhanced automation to improve pricing process efficiency and discipline.
- Establish monthly, quarterly, and annual pricing targets to support business growth objectives.
- Develop, implement, manage, and maintain the infrastructure necessary for effective execution and monitoring of pricing strategies.
- Document internal processes for price setting, implementation, and ongoing execution.
- Ensure a disciplined approach for granting price concessions with proper delegation of authority (DOA) levels.
- Establish appropriate protocols and authorization rights throughout the organization.
- Lead the development of a business data warehouse for pricing data.
- Direct the development of internal and external communication materials related to pricing.
- Create and conduct training on pricing methodologies for relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and lead processes to benchmark internal pricing practices against competitors, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of competitive pricing strategies and behaviors.
- Provide analytical support to the Product Management team regarding the pricing of new products and services.
- Assist the leadership team in providing visibility and insights into pricing metrics and analysis, guiding senior leaders on necessary actions to achieve results.
- Support the annual budgeting/planning cycle concerning the impact of pricing strategies and policies.
- Provide ad-hoc support, analysis, and leadership for special projects and pricing improvement initiatives.
- Build, lead, and develop a pricing team as required to support the organization’s pricing objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in pricing strategy, financial analysis, or a related field, preferably within the manufacturing or agricultural sector.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing pricing strategies and processes.
- Familiarity with pricing software and data analysis tools.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to build and mentor a team.
TECHNOLOGY: Ability to learn and use Microsoft & Google Suite.
