CDL Tour Driver

Location: On-Site - Kaneohe, HI.

Position Summary

The CDL Tour Driver is responsible for providing safe, engaging, and informative guided tours across Kualoa Ranch’s historic and scenic properties. Operating company vehicles—including buses, mini-buses, trolleys, trams, or vans—the CDL Tour Driver ensures a memorable and educational guest experience while upholding the highest safety and customer service standards. Acting as a brand ambassador, the driver represents Kualoa Ranch’s mission, values, and rich cultural heritage.

Key Responsibilities

Tour Operations & Guest Engagement

• Conduct guided tours while operating company vehicles, delivering engaging and accurate information about Kualoa Ranch’s history, culture, and natural environment.
• Ensure guest safety and comfort throughout the tour, following all safety protocols and operational procedures.
• Engage with guests professionally, answering questions and providing exceptional customer service.
• Maintain a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all guests, adjusting tour narration as needed for different audiences.
• Assist guests with boarding and exiting vehicles safely.

Vehicle Operation & Safety

• Operate CDL-class vehicles safely in accordance with state and federal driving regulations.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure all safety standards are met.
• Report any mechanical issues, safety concerns, or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow all company driving policies, maintaining a clean driving record and adhering to all traffic laws.
• Navigate rough or uneven terrain while ensuring passenger comfort and safety.

Operational Support

• Assist with tour logistics, including coordinating vehicle assignments and schedules.
• Communicate effectively with the operations team to relay updates, weather-related changes, or other tour modifications.
• Maintain a professional and presentable tour vehicle by ensuring cleanliness and proper upkeep.
• Support other ranch activities as needed, including special events or VIP tours.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit and operate a vehicle for extended periods.
• Must be able to assist guests with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including individuals with mobility challenges.
• Capable of moderate physical labor, such as loading/unloading small equipment or assisting with minor vehicle upkeep.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, rain, and humidity.
• Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations and follow proper safety protocols.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Hawaii CDL A or CDL B Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement (REQUIRED).
• 3+ years of driving experience with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Experience operating large passenger vehicles safely on varied terrain.
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment and perform moderate physical tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous tour guiding or hospitality experience.
• Knowledge of Hawaiian history, culture, and ecology.
• Experience driving on rough terrain or in off-road conditions.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities.

Schedule

• Full-time position with open availability required, including weekends and holidays.
• Must be flexible with scheduling, as tours may be adjusted due to weather, group sizes, or operational needs.
