Compensation Manager
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Compensation Manager to establish and lead our compensation function from the ground up. This is a newly created role designed to build structure, processes, and policies in a currently underdeveloped compensation environment. You will work closely with HR leadership and business stakeholders to design, implement, and manage competitive compensation programs that support our business goals, drive engagement, and ensure compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a Compensation Framework: Establish a structured approach to compensation, including base pay, incentives, and variable pay programs.
- Market Analysis & Benchmarking: Conduct regular compensation benchmarking and market analysis to ensure competitive pay structures.
- Compensation Strategy: Design and implement compensation strategies aligned with company objectives, business needs, and industry best practices.
- Job Evaluation & Salary Structures: Develop job classification systems, salary bands, and pay structures to ensure consistency and fairness.
- Executive & Incentive Compensation: Support the development of executive and incentive compensation programs to drive performance and retention.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure all compensation programs comply with federal, state, and local laws, including FLSA, pay transparency regulations, and equal pay laws.
- Collaboration with HR & Leadership: Partner with HR, finance, and senior leadership to align compensation strategies with broader business objectives.
- Communication & Training: Educate managers and employees on compensation philosophy, programs, and practices to enhance transparency and understanding.
- Process & Technology Implementation: Identify and implement tools or systems to streamline compensation administration and analytics.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in compensation, preferably in a multi-state or healthcare-related organization.
- Strong understanding of job evaluation methodologies, salary structures, and incentive design.
- Experience with compensation benchmarking tools and methodologies.
- Knowledge of compensation-related compliance requirements (FLSA, pay equity, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and compensation analytics tools. (Ideally Dayforce)
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field; CCP certification is a plus.
