POSITION PROFILE: Game Entertainment Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Game Day Production
RERPORTS TO: Director of Game & Event Entertainment
STATUS: Salary, Non-Exempt 
    
JOB SUMMARY: Develop and execute opportunities to create memorable KANSAS CITY CHIEFS ("Club") fan experiences through gameday and other marketing initiatives/events. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the Game Presentation department to develop and implement overall Game Presentation plans, concepts, and theme-specific elements for home games.
  • Coordinate production and stage management for Chiefs signature events such as Chiefs Draft Fest, Kickoff Luncheon, Style Lounge, etc...
  • Research, book, schedule, and create a positive experience for game day entertainment, including Color Guards, Flag Holders, in-game promotions, performances, and on-field presentations.
  • Work closely with all local military branches to create and maintain a strong relationship between the team and the military to book Color Guards, flyovers, and other military requests.
  • Oversee operational needs for back of house, green room allocations, and staff and entertainment meals for all home games and signature events.
  • Create and manage game day equipment lists and shot lists for home games and events.
  • Oversee and manage all field props, inventory, and equipment needs in storage for game day and events.
  • Manage the gameday pyro stagehands, including recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, ordering equipment/uniforms, and coordinating event day logistics for team of 25.
  • Manage the gameday Field Crew, including recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, ordering equipment/uniforms, and coordinating event day logistics for team of 14.
  • Lead game day rehearsal operations, logistics, and execution in collaboration with stadium partners and other departments.
  • Serve as Field Manager and coordinate Game Presentation elements for college football games and provide support for other Arrowhead Events bookings.
  • Work with internal departments to create a cohesive and memorable game day experience while fulfilling contractual obligations.
  • Assist the Director of Game and Event Entertainment in developing and managing the department's yearly budgets.
  • Monitor the Entertainment inbox and respond to inquiries.
  • Perform various other tasks as assigned by the Director of Game and Event Entertainment or other departmental personnel.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year full-time work experience in sports, entertainment, game entertainment or related field required.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Proficiency in use of Shoflo script software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-energy environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain solid working relationships at all levels across the organization and externally.
  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to produce high-quality, accurate work within designated deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information.
  • Ability and desire to demonstrate a positive, winning attitude and a strong work ethic in the performance of all job responsibilities.
  • Ability to apply sound decision-making skills in routine matters including event logistics, budget development and allocation, resource expenditure and event staffing.
  • Ability to self-motivate and to adapt to leadership and direction.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:

  • Effectively perform all supervisory duties for the Field Crew and Pyro Stagehand position(s) with responsibilities to include, but not be limited to, hiring, assigning and prioritizing workload, providing guidance, performance management and termination.  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Light office duties and activities.
  • Will periodically be required to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Occasional local and regional travel tied to special events and outreach program events sponsored by the Club and/or by the National Football League.
