Primary Responsibilities:   Provide transportation for Tachibana Enterprises, LLC customers, to and from golf course and tours, from hotel and/or airport.

Essential Function

 

80%

  • Provide proper narration during golf transfers and tours in English and Japanese.
  • Interact with customers by conveying updated information and regularly communicate with tour conductors, if any, and follow tour itinerary to maximize customer satisfaction.

 

20%

  • Conduct vehicle inspections and operational checks before/after all trips.
  • Maintain cleanliness in vehicle, exterior and interior. 
  • Fuel vehicles and report any mechanical issues to manager in writing on the Driver’s Inspection Report for proper vehicle maintenance.

 

Secondary Functions:

  1. Abide by company performance and conduct standards.
  2. Able to accurately calculate change for any cash payments.
  3. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. High school graduate or, three (3) years related experience and/or training;
  2. Possess valid Hawaii driver’s license, with clean driving history;
  3. Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with internal/external customers and able to speak/read/write in English; Japanese is desirable.
  4. Able to read, analyze, and interpret dispatch documents, safety procedures, and governmental regulations; as well as, write required operational and safety reports.  
  5. Possess knowledge of the Hawaiian Islands, including but not limited to, geography, culture, and history. 

 

Working Conditions:

Working Hours

    1. Normal business hours:  5:00 a.m. -11:00 p.m., Sunday – Saturday and, as deemed necessary, depending on flight and tour schedule.
    2. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, 7 days a week, including holidays.
    3. Hours of work are dictated by the number of charter trips booked, the schedule, and prearranged itinerary of tours and shuttles, and company business needs. 

 

Working Environment

Driving vehicles in all types of weather, the driver is regularly exposed to standard traffic conditions and is regularly exposed to noise, dust, gases/fumes, vehicle exhaust and airborne particles and vibration. 

 

Equipment Used

  1. All motor vehicles in the company’s fleet. 
  2. Use and operation of radio equipment, rear view camera, and audio equipment, including microphone and video systems.

 

Physical/Mental Demands

  1. While performing the duties of the job, requires sitting for long periods of time and operating motor vehicles, sometimes in tight, confined spaces or in busy and congested traffic conditions on city streets and highways, during all hours of the day.
  2. Constant mental and visual attention, requiring alertness, concentration, adjust to changing conditions, and able to analyze situations.
  3. Possess an even temperament and emotional stability to deal with heavy, fast moving, or stop-and-go traffic.
  4. Able to resolve concerns and issues in a calm, professional manner; handle stressful situations, and deal constructively with conflict.
  5. Constant – vision, hearing, eye-hand-foot coordination;
  6. Frequent – lifting/carrying less than 25 to 50 pounds, standing, walking;
  7. Occasional – pulling less than 25 pounds to more than 50 pounds, sitting, running, overhead reach;
  8. Seldom – pushing, stair climbing, bending, crawling, squatting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, climbing, forward reaching, twisting, side bending, grasping, handling, finger dexterity.

 

Communication Demands

  1. Constant – requires talking to co-workers and customers, visiting/working at different worksites;
  2. Frequent – requires talking on the telephone, receiving verbal and written instructions;
