The Supervisor I - Clinical provides clinical supervision and oversight to designated clinicians in accordance with the regulations and requirements of Medicare, Medicaid, third party insurance participation, licensure, accreditation, practice standards, and Agency policies and procedures. The Supervisor I - Clinical performs her/his duties independently, seeking supervision from the Program Director and Clinical Consultant, as appropriate.

This is a hybrid position which allows working from home but will require some days/hours in the Fairfax office.  Nighttime hours are also required at least two days per week.

Essential Functions:

 

Caseload Coordination

  • Evaluate supervisee caseload on a monthly basis and monitor supervisee productivity.
  • Communication with Program Director regularly regarding supervisee assignments, availability, productivity and quality of work.
  • Monitor adherence to policies, procedures, protocols and processed (e.g. Client Management Process and Unicentirc database) to ensure current and accurate clinical documentation and billing.

Clinical Supervision

  • Monitor supervisee’s adherence to clinical standards of practice consistent with JSSA policies and procedures, and professional practice standards.
  • Provide clinical orientation to all assigned staff and ensure new hire orientation is completed by each new staff.
  • Supervise clinical staff on a regular basis in accordance with Agency standards and supervisee needs and expertise.
  • Serve as clinical resource to staff and attend treatment planning meetings.
  • Implement Agency process for review of supervisee documentation.
  • Attend training, in-service and other clinically focused committee meetings as appropriate.
  • Evaluate, monitor and act to improve the quality of clinical services in conjunction with the Program Director, Quality Improvement Coordinator, Clinical Consultant and staff.
  • Consult on complex cases and difficult supervisory issues with Program Director and/or Clinical Consultant.

Clinical Practice

  • Provide direct service to a defined caseload of clients, as appropriate.
  • Performa related activities including internal and external service coordination and client advocacy.
  • Conducts groups and workshops, as appropriate.
  • Participate in in-service and training, as appropriate.
  • Document and maintain client records adhering to CMP and Unicentric procedures.

Professional and Contract Staff Supervision

  • Ensure supervisee’s professional growth and development and encourage staff to identify areas of practice for professional development.

Community Outreach

  • Ensure implementation of outreach activities assigned to supervisees.
  • Promote and represent the Agency in the community.
  • Participate in professional organizations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical services.
  • Collaborate with the Agency’s Marketing department, as needed.

 

Minimum Education, Licensure, and Work Experience Required:

  • A Master’s degree in social Work or an equivalent Master’s degree allied program and a current license in appropriate jurisdictions.
  • Minimum of 7 years post–Master’s clinical/therapy/supervisory experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Completion of state stipulated requirements for Clinical Supervisors.
  • Carry professional liability insurance per agency policy.
