Position Responsibilities:
- Assembles and fabricates mechanical parts, pieces, or products using various tools and equipment according to required specifications.
- Wires electrical systems, plumbs air and hydraulic systems.
- Reads, interprets, and follows blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials and other written instructions or procedures to assemble equipment and products accurately.
- Designs and/or follows designs to fabricate and manufacture a complete component.
- Utilizes a variety of tools for assembly.
- Follows troubleshooting steps to ensure proper functionality of equipment, parts, components and other industrial material.
- Identifies product defects and completes appropriate documentation when defects are discovered.
- Reworks and / or repairs assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
- Performs all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
- Maintains a clean and safe workplace and always performs work safely.
- Repairs fixtures and equipment that are powered by air, electrical or hydraulics.
- Maintains records to meet OSHA and state or local regulations.
- Identifies and reports potential safety hazards.
- Keeps facility and infrastructure running without inhibiting workflow through flexibility if work hours.
- Responds to work orders quickly and effectively through the use of timely critical thinking.
- Performs work while using PIT lift equipment, scissor lifts, etc. at a height of more than 20 feet.
- Maintains regular attendance, which is an essential function of this position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED, required.
- Apprentice or journeyman certificate, certificate from a technical degree program or state certification, preferred.
- Previous work experience with electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, preferred.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of the position.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of 8 hours or more standing, may be required.
- Ability to hear sounds, buzzers, beepers and alarms, and recognize the difference between them.
- Must be able to use hand and foot controls for equipment and PIT operation.
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
- Must be able to bend at the waist, sit, kneel, stoop, climb perform overhead and horizontal work.
- Must be able to be an active listener and able to communicate for prolonged periods of time.

Weller Truck Parts began its history in 1928 as a small company that found value in recycled parts for the auto industry. Over the years, Weller has grown into a thriving business dedicated to the remanufacturing of heavy truck driveline components. In 2014, Weller became a 100% Associate Owned ESOP company and is a member of the Jasper Holding family of companies. For today, and beyond, Weller remains dedicating to “out servicing” the competition and removing the otherwise defunct units and parts from the path to a landfill.
