The Mishkon Division provides supports and services in a healthy and safe environment for individuals with intellectual/ developmental disabilities living in residential programs and in community settings. POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Bookkeeper Clerk/Medical Secretary will support the Medical Team by scheduling appointments, data entry and follow up on needed issues. The Medical Secretary must exhibit strong organizational skills, Microsoft competent and works collectively with medical staff, clinical staff and administration
KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare Accounts Payable documents per agency standards.
- Supervise bookkeepers from other departments to ensure the highest standards.
- Distribute and reconcile petty cash and monitor software to track payments.
- Monitor independent contractor’s time to ensure they are working within the allotted time contracted to them.
- Serves as backup for bookkeeping staff as necessary due to heavy workloads or temporary absences.
- Assist in the vetting process of new vendors.
- Supervise daily/monthly billing for the residential programs.
- Monitor monthly day program billing.
CORE COMPETENCIES for the position include:
- Ability to apply regulatory standards.
- Experience in or knowledge of using a software system for processing credit card transactions.
- Experience in recording financial transactions for organizations or individuals.
- Effective writing and speaking skills.
- Must be proficient in English.
EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIRED:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience and/or training.
- Electronic Health record experience preferred.
- Familiar with medical terminology.
- Able to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / LANGUAGE PREFERENCE:
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
- Able to maintain highest level of confidentiality.
COMPUTER REQUIRED / LANGUAGE PREFERENCE:
- Basic computer skills required including agency software programs and Electronic Health Record.
VISUAL AND MANUAL DEXIERITY:
- The visual and manual dexterity needed for this position include the ability to work on the computer, date entry and reviewing transactions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- The position entails some lifting.
- This position is fully in-person.
