The individual selected for this role will provide strategic managerial support to a staff of 12 professionals within Operations.  Candidate will work closely with all Operations Teams, Risk and Compliance, Securities Lending and Trade Support to ensure timely and accurate postings of proceeds, timely and accurate delivery of time-sensitive information and will act on instructions from the field for all client accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Active management of 2 teams – DIV/Reorg and Securities Processing
  • Manage the full lifecycle of alternative investments
  • Delegate review process to staff for daily operational reports. Supervise and review daily processing to ensure timely resolution of operational errors and compliance with various regulatory rules
  • Oversight of accurate and timely processing of all cash and stock proceeds on payable date
  • Oversight of accurate and timely field notification of upcoming Voluntary Corporate Actions
  • Ability to prioritize and execute duties quickly and accurately within tight timeframes
  • Oversight of departmental account reconciliations on a daily basis
  • Continuous monitoring of all daily functions with a vision for process improvement
  • Familiarity with Alternative Investment Products (AIP), physical security certificates, private placements, restricted securities
  • Provide excellent customer service to all clients (internal and external)
  • Competently use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other applications to complete necessary operational duties
  • Interface effectively with Management Teams, Operations Departments, and all other areas of the firm
  • Update policies & procedures, and draft new policies and procedures, as needed
  • Assist with projects and operations initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned and assist others when necessary

 

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years related work experience in the broker dealer operations
  • 3-5 years of experience managing Dividend / Reorg and Alternative Investments processing functions
  • Series 7 license preferred or willingness to complete after 6 - 12 months of employment
  • Strategic leadership and development capacity
  • Possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging automation technology including RPA and Xceptor
  • Experience using BETA
  • Strong initiative and time management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet critical deadlines
  • Superior written and oral communication skills in order to interact at all levels of the firm
  • Strong initiative and time management skills
  • An effective team player that works well under pressure and interacts appropriately with others
  • Familiarity with DTCC, JP Morgan, BNYM a plus

 

This role will be hybrid, the individual will work approximately three days per week in-office.
