Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain, the Planner-Scheduler role assists the Operations team with production planning for assembly, procurement of needed materials, and coordinating outbound shipments. Works closely with manufacturing, purchasing, and customer service departments to ensure orders are fulfilled, material acquired, and inventory balances are maintained accurately.

Primary Functions

• Places purchase orders for raw materials and/or procure customer consigned materials through customer defined processes.
• Coordinate deliveries of incoming purchased goods with carriers, railway partners, and vendors
• Updates ERP scheduling module and creates production jobs for Operations
• Schedules changeovers and preventative maintenance when necessary.
• Assists with production schedule in line with customer requirements to ensure customer requirements are achieved.
• Review and provide lead times for manufactured items by coordinating with production and purchasing.
• Completes job traveler and issues related materials as needed.
• Closes completed jobs as needed.
• Ensures cycle counts and associated activities are completed.
• Performs receiving tasks as needed, including managing of all documentation of received goods in line with standard policies and procedures.
• Creates shipping paperwork to support outbound deliveries in line with customer requirements and supporting company shipping KPIs.
• Understands and follows plant safety rules. Helps to identify and eliminate any safety hazard or concern. Assists in monitoring of quality of work output.
• Maintains compliance with company policy and procedures.
• Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Responsible for reporting any problems or concerns to direct Supervisor.
• Maintains good working relations with all other employees. Strives to have no conflicts with other employees.
• Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.
• Other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications

• Three to five years planning and scheduling experience.
• Previous knowledge of ERP system.
• Progressive knowledge and experience in utilizing manufacturing software is required.
• Experience with materials management tools as well as working knowledge of manufacturing concepts.
• Effectively communicates with others both verbally and in writing.
