Tooling Supervisor - Springfield, MO

Position Summary

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Tooling Supervisor (Injection Molding) is responsible for the effective performance of the tool room operation to obtain the optimum performance at the lowest operating costs ensuring total customer satisfaction. 

Primary Functions

• Supervise the Tool Room Technicians by assigning daily tasks to be completed and monitoring daily progress.
• Follow up on tooling issues that are prioritized in the plant and communicated within the department.
• Follow up on down cavities and assure that they are maintained above the expectations of the operation.
• Follow up on special projects assigned to the tool room.
• Educate on the computer system so that all have access to understand how to order parts and receive them through the system.
• Organize the tool room and standardize the paperwork and approve for use.
• Verify and maintain spare parts are in house and/or on order.
• Directs the shift with respect to preventative maintenance and cleaning of molds.
• Establishes communication path with the production team to coordinate repair and maintenance schedules for all tools to ensure efficiencies, cavitation, and prolong the life of the tools.

Key Qualifications

• Three to five years plastic injection mold tooling experience preferred, not required.
• Three to five years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing / injection molding facility.
• Thorough knowledge of safety specifications and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of manufacturing quality standards and systems.
• Understanding of LEAN principles.
• Thorough knowledge of MS Office, ERP, and Preventative Maintenance software.
