Substitute Teacher - Promise Academy

Be a part of setting a new standard for academic wellness for generations to come.  Successful candidates will have a once-in-a-career opportunity to be a part of the opening of our new Promise Academy, a year round school serving the clients at the Idaho Youth Ranch’s Residential Center for Healing and Resilience, a 64-bed psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF) for youth at our beautiful 258-acre Hands of Promise Campus in Idaho’s Treasure Valley.

Must Haves:

• • High School Diploma
  • Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
  • Works well with students, staff and the public

Preferred:

• Idaho teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements

Responsibilities:

• Follow lesson plans provided by regular teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media, consistent with the physical limitations of the classroom and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved
• Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation and maintain a positive learning environment
• Follows modifications and accommodations as specified in Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Maintains accurate and complete records as required by federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board policy

This position will have a daily rate of $102.00

As a year-round Charter School, Promise Academy is a qualifying employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PLSF) program. The PLSF offers student loan forgiveness on qualifying loans under specific conditions. Speak with your loan provider for more information.
