Department Description: 
The Security Operations Center (SOC) at ISO New England provides 24/7 Cyber Security monitoring and real time response in support of ISO New England's reliability function. In addition to real-time alerting and response, the SOC

What will you be working on:
This intern position will primarily work with the SOC in conducting monitoring activities, including triage of events, event analysis, and validations of security tools. The intern position will also have the opportunity to work on projects that support ongoing improvements for SOC engineering, including detection engineering, automation of alerts and response tools, and API integrations.

The intern will be able to get hands on SOC experience using security monitoring tools that are widely established and respected in the cyber security community. The intern will also be exposed to working on a team and completing projects that have real world effects upon securing the reliability of the ISO New England's functions.

What we look for in a candidate:
R Working on a degree or certification within the following fields: Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology
Experience working with a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tool. Example SIEMs include QRadar, Splunk, ArcSight, Sentinel
Experience with computer programming/scripting (Python preferred) with example project completed.

To be eligible for the internship candidate must have completed at least the first year of college and be currently enrolled in a four year or graduate-level academic program. Candidates must have the authority to work in the US on a permanent basis, without requiring sponsorship.
