Internship Title – Innovation and Automation for Resource Adequacy Studies
Department – Resource Adequacy and Accreditation
Minimum Education level: SR
Preferred Majors: Electrical and Computer Engineering

Department Description: 
The Resource Adequacy and Accreditation is responsible to determine the installed capacity requirement and related values of our system and also support the needs for various interregional planning related studies (NPCC/NERC). 
The Economic Studies and Environmental Outlook team runs future look studies of the transforming power grid and assesses environmental impacts of current and future polices.

What will you be working on:
Learn, hands on, from Subject Matter Experts performing adequacy studies that help bring new insights with innovation and automation of future grid concepts and improve efficiency to increase performance.  This internship will provide immediate value to a future engineer as it will provide insights to the challenges of renewable integration.

The intern will gain valuable understanding of the power system and the clean energy transition.  They will gain experience in taking state of the art future grid concepts and integrating them into existing processes to improve overall study results. They will also become proficient users of industry leading software that will enable them to become effective on the first day of their careers after finishing their degrees.


What we look for in a candidate: 
Strong and independent work ethic
Robust working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Access
Basic understanding of power system concepts
Ability to program (Python and MATLAB preferred, VBA)

To be eligible for the internship candidate must have completed at least the first year of college and be currently enrolled in a four year or graduate-level academic program. Candidates must have the authority to work in the US on a permanent basis, without requiring sponsorship.
