Department Description:
The Capacity Interconnection Studies group performs power flow studies to determine any transmission system upgrade requirements to reliably integrate new generating capacity and demand capacity resources to the New England system. The department assures that the future power system of New England is reliable as significant amounts of new clean-energy resources are interconnected to it.
What will you be working on:
The internship will focus on providing support to the Capacity Interconnections Study group engineers to manage study input and output data, perform analysis, and support the reporting of study results.
In this role, you will have exposure to transmission power flow studies, characteristics of different new resource technologies, the ISO's interconnection process for new resources seeking to provide capacity to the region, and to the ISO's capacity market.
What we look for in a candidate:
Enrollment in Electrical Engineering program in pursuit of B.S. or graduate degree.
Completed power systems course work is preferred.
