Internship Title – Resource Adequacy Assessment Analysis
Department – Advanced Technology Solutions
Minimum Education level: PhD
Preferred Majors: Electrical Engineering
Department Description:
The Advanced Technology Solutions (ATS) department engages in both long-term research projects and near-term design/process improvements. The department consists of experts in three topic areas: power systems, simulations, and markets. In all projects, the goal of the department is to provide innovative and practical solutions to current and emerging questions for ISO New England.
What will you be working on:
Assisting in developing and refining models to predict future resource adequacy under different conditions.
Conducting research on most recent development in resource adequacy assessment.
Conducting scenario analysis to evaluate the impact of extreme weather events and use simulation tools to assess performance under different seasonal conditions.
How will you make an impact:
This position will help Advanced Technology Solutions Market Solutions and Optimization Tech Group gain deeper understanding of the current/future issues present in the capacity market from both theoretical and practical perspectives.
What we look for in a candidate:
Good understanding of resource adequacy assessment for power systems.
Strong analytical and programming skills.
