Operations Study Analyst
ISO New England is the not-for-profit, independent system operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in our region and planning for the future of the electric grid. We are at the forefront of New England’s ongoing transition to clean energy.
Help support the reliability of the power grid of the future. The ISO New England Operations Technical Studies team is seeking a dedicated Analyst that will assist engineers on conducting operational studies to ensure the reliable and economic operation of the rapidly evolving New England Bulk Electric System as the region transitions to a clean energy future. How you will make an impact:
- Manage databases, tools, and processes related to generator and grid modeling and performance data/information to facilitate engineering efforts, such as operations planning, reliability studies, and compliance audits;
- Assist engineers on managing a joint task force with regional transmission owners on power grid voltage performance and conducting its associated activities, such as administering meeting logistics, tracking routine communication, engineering tasks on voltage related matters, and documentation;
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and support external customers on formally transmitting voltage and reactive power related syntaxes/data/forms by following established work processes;
- Update power grid system diagram;
- Maintain procedure documents;
What you need to be successful:
- 2-year associated degree or above in Business, Engineering, Information processing, Technology or related field;
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities
- Experience utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite
- Desired not required:
- Knowledge of ISO New England Bulk Electric System
- Working experience within the utility and energy industry
- Experience with Python programming, Jira, and AutoCAD
