General Summary: The Foster Care Supervisor is responsible for providing direct supervision of Foster Care Specialists and oversight of the members and families providing foster care services.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports organizations mission, goals and management decision, and establishes team mission and goals. Ensures fidelity to the organization’s treatment model.
- Provides Staff supervision including assessment, decision-making and communications related to hiring, staff assignment, coaching, counseling, discipline, and ongoing and annual performance evaluations.
- Ensures staff adhere to initial and ongoing training and licensing requirements.
- Provides consistent oversight of staff and their assigned families, to ensure compliance with program procedures, state regulations and established benchmarks.
- Supports program training and staff development initiatives.
- Proficiently provides positive relationship and team building; recognition and evaluations of staff; counseling and disciplining of staff.
- Documents performance and disciplinary actions after consultations with Foster Care Director and HR; submits to HR in a timely fashion.
- Approves payroll and requests for time off, as required by policy.
- Builds staff competencies, reinforces positive work ethics and values and provides training to enhance staff performance.
- Conducts regular team meetings and in-service training and participates in Foster Care department meetings and training.
- In conjunction with Foster Care Specialists, ensures member’s needs are met within the foster home setting.
- Coordinate behavioral health services accessed by members; collaborates with Health Homes, both internally and externally.
- Works with Health Homes in provision of behavioral health services for members; ensures DCS Foster care team works collaboratively with Intermountain Health Home staff.
- Communications with Foster Care licensing and training staff to ensure DCS Foster Care needs are met.
- Assists Program Director with critical incident reporting for behavioral health-referred members.
- Ensure member files are maintained in accordance with Intermountain Centers’ and contractual standards.
- Help support and monitor indicators related to meeting the program’s budget and quality objectives. Supports program growth and recruitment initiatives.
- Participates and assists in other aspects of program, as need or requested.
- Provides emergency back-up support for foster care homes.
- Performs other duties as assigned or necessary as they relate to the general nature of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education – Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience – 3 years of related experience.
REGULATORY:
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Arizona Driver’s License, 39-month Motor Vehicle Report and proof of vehicle registration and liability insurance that meets insurance requirements is required.
- Must possess Level 1 fingerprint clearance.
- CPR and First Aid certification, if required (Employer provides).
- Initial current negative TB test result, if required (Employer provides).
