TITLE: Electric Technician B

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

This position will be under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, ensures the correct operation, repairs, and preventative maintenance schedules of the office, manufacturing, and distribution facilities. This position will perform tasks to install, maintain and/or repair plant production machinery such as plastic resin handling systems, co-extrusion cast film lines, pallet wrapping, thermoforming machines, and paper bag converting equipment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational education desirable
  • Have knowledge of industrial electrical components – relays, timers, contactors, proximity switches, etc.
  • Must be able to read multimeters and amp meters.
  • A background in industrial electronics and troubleshooting is required
  • Experience with PLC controls and variable speed drives is preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Experience with PLC controls and variable speed drives is preferred
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends and evenings as needed.
  • Also, must be able to work on-call as needed
  • Must be able to read electrical schematics
  • The ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings is a plus
  • Can work with limited supervision (i.e. night shift)
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of electrical/electronic equipment including motor start-stop circuits and 24V-700 V electrical circuits.
  • Performs preventative maintenance (PM) of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Assist parts coordinator in the requisition and inventory of tools, spare parts and equipment.
  • Assists maintenance technician in the lubrication and repair of mechanical equipment
  • Maintain all equipment in good running order
  • Ensure that job site is clean and free of hazards
  • Maintains good housekeeping and safety practices when running equipment
  • Interacts and communicates with production supervisor during shift and assist on production line when needed
  • Maintains professional certifications and keeps updated on all procedures and policy changes; keeps training up to date
  • Operates all maintenance equipment safely, follows LOTO procedures at all times.

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

  • Manufacturing Environment
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures (cold and hot)
  • Loud noise
