POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Documentation Specialist reports to the Sr. Manager Clinical Documentation and provides administrative support for various projects.
What you'll do:
- Prints all necessary reports to aide in verifying the medical record complete for claims submission.
- Verifies insurance for individual patients.
- Monitors and reports any eligibilities changes to the correct departments.
- Updates billing rules to the correct payer.
- Helps to review clinical documentation to verify that it meets billing requirements for specific insurances.
- Reaches out to other members of the staff to obtain missing or corrected documents.
- Assists the billing department in any additional tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What you need:
- Associate degree or equivalent in related work experience
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in an office setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Healthcare experience is preferred
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Experience with Home Health Care billing processes
- Experience with Medicare rules and regulations
- Any billing or coding certifications
