Senior Tax Accountant
Job Responsibilities and Duties
• Accumulate, analyze, and process financial accounting data for preparation of tax returns, estimated tax calculations and financial forecasts
• Assist in preparation and review of Federal, state and local tax returns for corporations, partnerships
• Assist in preparation of tax provisions according to ASC 740
• Assist in gathering information and responding to notices from various tax authorities; assist in tax audits
• Gather financial information and prepare tax filings for various reporting requirements (Form 1099-MISC, Form 1099- DIV etc.)
• Ensure compliance-related deadlines such as extensions, tax estimate requirements, tax return filings etc. are met
• Understand and research basic to moderately complex tax concepts and their application; communicate results with supervisor
• Assist with special projects, including planning initiatives, process improvements etc.
• Analyze and interpret changes to Federal and state tax laws
• Participate in trade, industry or professional groups including leadership positions providing the opportunity for professional growth
Job Skills and Qualifications:
• Self-starter with high energy and a positive attitude
• Excellent project management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong work ethic and professionalism
• Ability to inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• CPA Certification a plus
• 3 plus years’ experience in Federal and state taxation including the preparation and review of Federal and state tax returns for corporations and partnerships (real estate industry knowledge preferred but not required)
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
Salary Range: $100,000-125,000. This pay range is based on a consideration of neutral factors and criteria such as required qualifications, experience, education, skill, training, certifications, seniority, and other job related requirements.
