The Retail Manager will be responsible for all strategic retail planning and execution, profitable growth and daily operations of the C-store.  

Position Responsibilities 

• Oversee the strategic plans, execution and day-to-day operations 

• Merchandising, including buying and selling store inventory 

• Store operations including staffing and receiving goods 

• Accounting and bookkeeping, including tracking sales figures 

• Assists in the employment, assignment and termination of employees 

• Conducting interviews with prospective staff members 

• Training the staff and set store policy 

• Preparing the employee work schedule ensuring that the C-store is properly staffed to handle the customer load 

• Establish shop cleanliness and appearance levels and manage the facility to those established criteria 

• Working the cash register, customer and direct sales when needed 

• Responding to customer complaints and comments 

• Performing related work as required 

• Other duties as assigned 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• HS Degree or the equivalent experience 

• Knowledge of retail sales and the sales cycle as well as inventory management 

• Knowledge of personnel administration and business management. 

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, students, and fellow employees. 

• Ability to supervise the work of others. 

Preferred Skills 

• 5+ years in retail sales environment 

• Bilingual 

• Bachelor’s degree in related field 

Physical Demands and Work Environment 

• Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs.  

• Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time. 

• Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc. 

• Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
