JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Representative with a proven track record in industrial sales to join our team. This position is focused on the custom gear and gearbox repair industry, with an emphasis on providing high-quality, tailored solutions to clients in need of gear manufacturing, machining, and repair services. The ideal candidate will possess at least 3 years of experience in industrial sales, with specific experience in gear manufacturing, machining, or related fields.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sales Development: Identify, target, and cultivate new business opportunities in the custom gear and gearbox repair sector.

  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, such as plant managers, engineers, and procurement officers in industries like manufacturing, industrial motion, and heavy machinery.

  • Product Knowledge: Demonstrate a deep understanding of custom gear design, gearbox repair services, and related technical specifications to effectively communicate product benefits and value to clients.

  • Proposal and Quotation Preparation: Work closely with the technical team to create accurate and competitive proposals and quotes for custom gear solutions and gearbox repairs.

  • Sales Presentations: Deliver compelling presentations and product demonstrations to prospective customers, both in person and virtually.

  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and offer solutions that meet client requirements.

  • Sales Goals: Meet and exceed sales targets and performance metrics as set by management.

  • Order Management: Manage the full sales cycle from initial inquiry to order fulfillment, ensuring customer satisfaction throughout.

  • Reporting: Maintain accurate sales records, including CRM updates, sales forecasts, and activity reports.

  • Travel: Traveling to other locations throughout the KC Metro Area and the surrounding states may be required.

  • All other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial sales, preferably in gear manufacturing, machining, or related sectors.

  • Strong technical knowledge of gear systems, gearbox repair, and related industrial products.

  • Proven ability to develop new business, maintain client relationships, and drive sales growth.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to understand customer needs and propose technical solutions in a consultative manner.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM software.

  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.

  • Clean driving record and personal transportation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is a plus.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of gear design, CNC machining, and gearbox repair processes.

  • Experience with industrial clients in sectors such as manufacturing, food service, mining, or construction.

  • Previous experience working with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) or heavy machinery clients.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED WORK HOURS
This is a full-time position with a typical work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., however hours may vary by location. This position requires frequent travel in the KC Metro Area and possibly the surrounding states. There may be times where there is an expectation to work extended hours as dictated by business needs.
