Assistant Manufacturing Supervisor - 3rd
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Assistant Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for onboarding new employees, completing necessary audits and non-conforming product support. This will be achieved by maintaining HellermannTyton's Quality and EHS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation.
Essential Functions:
- Onboarding of new Pack Op employees (temp & permanent hire)
- Actively engage and support manufacturing employees
- Support and promote continuous improvement, engagement and other company initiatives
- Conduct manufacturing process compliance audits. Engage employees in non-conformance findings. Re-instruct, retrain, and document the findings.
- Support QA with non-conforming product (hold tickets, backtracking, sorting, etc.).
- Advise Mfg Team Supervisor of any concerns as they relate to production.
- Ensure that employees comply with all Health, Safety and Regulatory programs.
- Assist in maintaining HellermannTyton's certification by supporting corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation.
Other Functions
- Assist in other areas of production as needed.
- Ensure machines and equipment are kept clean.
- Oversee the general housekeeping of the production areas and that supplies are in the appropriate places.
- Other duties may be assigned.
What You'll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalency required.
- Minimum of 1-year supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Six months of prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Basic computer/data entry skills using a mouse and/or keyboard is required.
- Must be a quality conscious, detail orientated individual.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Good communication skills, oral and written.
- Ability to follow written or oral instructions accurately.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs.
- Regular attendance and the ability to work overtime / weekends as needed is a requirement of the job.
- Advanced knowledge of plastic injection molding preferred.
- Ability to inspect production for quality defects.
- Ability to read, write, and accurately perform basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
- Must be able to stand, walk and work for up to 12 hour shifts.
