Implementation Support Practitioner - Clinical Training
JOB SUMMARY: Sycamores provides a spectrum of equitable mental health services through various programs to multicultural populations of all acuities. Although it serves a variety of consumers, the agency focuses primarily on providing care to low-income, high at- risk youth.
The Implementation Support Practitioner position is designed for a clinical mental health professional who has knowledge and experience in training and supervising staff on best practice in behavioral health topics such as evidence-based practice (EBP) interventions. This training practitioner will be responsible for designing and delivering training curriculum to meet a wide variety of behavioral health training needs for the agency and external partners, many of which will also meet criteria for continuing education credits for licensed staff.
This role will oversee the agency’s Student Internship Program, serving as liaison with professional schools and universities including managing internship contracts and coordinating with Sycamores’ leaders to assess intern needs. This person will provide clinical supervision for pre-licensed direct care staff/interns as needed. This person will also support new initiatives by participating in project management, curriculum development, grant writing/reporting, and delivering clinical training to support Hathaway’s Center for Excellence initiatives as assigned.
Starting Pay Range:
$80,000 - $90,000 per year for Full-Time employment (starting pay will be based on previous work experience and educational background.)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (These are the essential job functions for this position. The essential functions of this job include but may not be limited to those listed in this job description. - Support Clinical Training and Implementation Department with coordinating, developing, implementation, and delivering training internally and externally.
- Develop innovative curriculum and provide frequent trainings on a variety of behavioral health-related topics, including specific EBPs.
- Maintain own credentialing and expertise in order to support approved-internal EBP trainings and external trainings for the Center for Excellence (CFE)
- Be willing to become a trainer or train-the-trainer by credentialing in additional EBPs or other clinical topics as related to the agency or CFE priorities,
- Act as Subject Matter Expert for all as-needed implementation support and consultation.
- Provide visually and orally dynamic presentations and reports to various groups, including management and direct care staff, and external audiences.
- Oversee the New Hire Training Verification Process and approval of EBP bonuses.
- Support development and delivery of agency clinical training such as new hire modules, refresher training to direct care staff and management as assigned. Including proficiency in training and implementation support on diagnosis, substance abuse, interventions for depression and suicidality, mandated reporting, and ethics, as well as other related topics.
- Lead development and management of agency’s Student Internship Program including maintaining partnerships with universities, managing university internship contracts, and coordinating with Sycamores’ leaders to assess site/department intern needs. Activities may include recruiting, onboarding, training, placing, supporting programs and students with addressing placement issues, and managing practicum students from local schools across the agency.
- Support grant writing opportunities that align with the vision and mission of the agency and CFE.
- Support fiscal sustainability of the CFE by providing training and consultation through awarded local and federal grants, and external consultation contracts.
- Collaborates with staff to prepare conference presentations. Submit and deliver these conference presentations if accepted to enhance agency’s and CFE reputation.
- Provide clinical supervision for pre-licensed direct care staff/interns as needed.
- Attends and participates in agency meetings and trainings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters or Doctoral degree from an accredited or state approved program that meets criteria for licensing as a clinical social worker, marriage and family therapist, professional clinical counselor, or clinical psychologist. Must be waiver-able or registered with the appropriate licensing board to provide psychotherapy.
- Licensed clinical social worker preferred (providing direct supervision hours to support licensure of staff/interns as needed)
- Preferred certification in the following evidenced-based practices: Assertive Community Treatment, High-fidelity Wraparound, and/or Managing and Adapting Practices
- Must be licensed and eligible to provide clinical supervision to Board of Behavioral Science standards (i.e. LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, Ph. D or PsyD). LCSW preferred.
- Supervised experience in individual, group, and family psychotherapy with the severely emotionally disturbed.
- Post licensure with related supervisory experience.
- Extensive knowledge of psychodynamics, patterns of growth and development, and proficiency and experience in diagnosis utilizing current edition of DSM.
- Maintains all required licenses and certifications.
- Valid California Driver License and a driving record acceptable to the Agency’s insurance carrier.
- Desire or experience training preferred.
- Certification in EBP(s) preferred.
