Sales Engineer
Overview: Responsibilities; Pursue and cultivate sales of Novia product and services to new and existing HVAC, plumbing, & electrical contractors as well as original equipment manufacturers in the greater New England area. Follow up with customers, handle incoming order requests through phone/email, initiate and process sales orders, manage work in progress, and coordinate product releases with Engineering and Operations to ensure product arrives as intended. Support estimating and production on all initiatives pertaining to our business. Essential Duties: Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in order to generate new business for the organization’s products and services. Respond to prospective customer inquiries and requests for quotations and project buyouts. Support customers by fielding technical questions and providing solutions. Assist with field support, installation, training and/or supervision to ensure proper installation and performance of Novia product. Project management. Organize all project details by acquiring and managing pertinent information. Store and organize in electronic project folders. Process customer orders. This includes the coordination of project requirements and deadlines, communicating lead times and establishing a project timeline that meets the customer’s needs. Work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure milestones are met and projects remain on schedule. Perform data entry when orders are placed, completed or changed. Maintain sales information databases and perform follow-up activities. Maintain logs: Calls, mileage, open issues, open projects, buy-outs, backlog, commission reports, etc Assist management team with product development, generating market information and developing presentations. Communicate effectively with customers and inside personnel to resolve any invoicing or payment issues. Other duties as assigned, required or needed. Ideal Candidate: 5 or more years of sales experience in vibration isolation, equipment manufacturing & sales, and/or industrial construction. Detail oriented professional with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task within a team oriented environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Friendly and well spoken. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, email and data entry. Must be able to work under time pressures, set priorities, and meet deadlines. |
