The Integrated Care Center Clinic is a federally qualified health centers that provide primary care, behavioral health, addiction treatment, psychiatry, dental care, and more. We provide care to those most in need including those who are suffering from homelessness, mental illness, substance use, mental illness, and chronic medical conditions. We provide team based care in an integrated care setting. Job Overview
Haight Ashbury Free Clinic (HAFC) at the Integrated Care Center (ICC) offers primary medical, dental, substance use disorder treatment, and mental health services guided by the principle that "Healthcare is a Right, Not a Privilege." HAFC/ICC provides compassionate, nonjudgmental care to patients who experience homelessness, poverty, and addiction. Our providers have specialized expertise in preventative health, acute and chronic conditions, treatment of infectious diseases, psychiatry, and addiction medicine.
Working with the Dental Director to support, manage and supervise other dental assistants in the dental clinic while delivering quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the RDA team to accomplish clinic operations such as proper workflow, set-up/breakdown, sterilization, scheduling, direct patient care, follow-ups/referrals.
- Work with the Dental Director to develop and enforce protocols, policies and procedures.
- Works with dental director to ensure that dental clinic is compliant with HIPPA, OSHA, federal and state regulations.
- Assist in transition of care and referrals to and from the dental clinic.
- Assist in the provision of high-quality care within the scope of service consistent with accepted standards of care for dental assistants.
- Supervise RDA staff and approve timecards and time off (ensures clinic is adequately staffed).
- Aids in execution and oversight of HR360 quality improvement and quality assessment projects.
- Take and prepare radiographs using digital technology.
- Provide active chairside assistance to the Dentist and anticipates the provider’s needs.
- At the conclusion of patient care, assist the patient, clear the work site, and prepare for the next patient.
- Monitor the flow of laboratory cases.
- Maintain and inventory supplies.
- Help to manage patient flow in clinic.
- Participate in the ongoing evaluation of Dental Program operations to assure the delivery of high-quality services that support the financial sustainability of the program.
Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- CPR/BLS certification.
- Radiology certificate (X-ray license).
- Registered Dental Assistant certificate.
- Infection control course certificate.
Additional, but not required:
- Coronal Polishing certificate.
- Pit and Fissure Sealants certificate.
