The Specialized Treatment for Optimized Programming (STOP) Area Six Program connects California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation inmates and parolees to comprehensive, evidence-based programming and services during their transition into the community, with priority given to those participants who are within their first year of release and who have been assessed to as a moderate to high risk to reoffend. Area Six includes San Diego, Orange, and Imperial counties. STOP subcontracts with detoxification, licensed residential treatment programs, outpatient programs, professional services, and reentry and recovery housing throughout the program area to assist participants with reentry and recovery resource
The STOP Driver is responsible for the transportation needs of STOP program participants. Following all applicable federal and state driving laws, the STOP Driver ensures that participants are safely transported to and from various institutions and locations. The STOP driver also ensures all transportation documentation is appropriately maintained and up-to-date. The STOP Driver may be assigned to transports on a varying schedule, including early morning, late in the evening, weekends and holidays. Schedule is dependent upon transport requests.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Transportation Responsibilities: Safely transports participants in company provided vehicle following all applicable federal and state driving laws. Maintains appropriate staff/participant boundaries at all times.
Vehicle Maintenance Responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring routine vehicle maintenance including inspections, interior and exterior cleaning and pumping gas. Maintains all such documentation in HR360 internal systems.
Administrative Responsibilities: Enters transportation activities in company database, files related paperwork, maintains and prepares vehicle usage reports and logs. Maintains and reconciles invoicing and backup documentation for transportation services. Maintains accurate vehicle documentation with guidelines established by HealthRIGHT 360 to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements. Keeps track of received data and source documents. Prepares and sort source documents, and identify and interpret data to be entered. Performs general clerical duties such as typing, answering phones, filing etc. Process various forms. Generate reports and respond to inquiries regarding entered data as requested. Attends required training and meetings. Communicates with California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) personnel DAPO personnel for transportation outcomes.
EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience Required:
-Valid California Driver’s license (Class B license preferred)
-Ability to clear and maintain agency vehicle insurance coverage
-Professional driving experience
-High School Diploma or GED required
Background Clearance Required:
-Must undergo a background investigation and criminal records check to obtain clearance
Knowledge Required:
- Clear understanding of appropriate staff/client boundaries
- Knowledge of transportation equipment for physically disabled
- Knowledge of vehicle safety and maintenance
- Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet applications
