AARS Adult Outpatient - Contingency Management Coordinator (AOD registration required)

Outpatient programs provide trauma-informed care aimed at reducing the harmful impacts of substance use. Participants and their counselors work collaboratively to design an integrated, individualized, strengths-based treatment experience geared towards addressing each client’s specific needs and goals. Outpatient programs provide Individual and group therapy, individualized case management, treatment planning, drug and alcohol counseling, crisis intervention, and connection to social support services.

The AARS Adult Outpatient program (ASATS) is an effective harm-reduction treatment program based on the concept of positive reinforcement to elicit positive behavioral change. Contingency Management (CM) is a structured 12-week program that uses gift cards to promote substance use reduction to help individuals suffering from Stimulant Use Disorders (Crack cocaine or methamphetamines).
Hours of operation are Mondays and Fridays from 9:00AM to 6:00pm; Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00AM to 8:00PM.
The Contingency Management Coordinator (CMC) provides care by delivering and tracking all Contingency Management (CM) services, including drug screens and incentive distribution. The CMC offers support and encouragement to clients who are engaging in Contingency Management as a strategy to improve treatment outcomes and is the primary point of contact for CM services. The CMC works in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible treatment outcome for clients and provides services in accordance with HealthRIGHT 360’s philosophy, goals, policies, mission, and vision. Services may be provided in an outpatient, residential treatment, or in the field, based on client and program needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Service:
- Outreach and follow up with clients and staff who are interested in Contingency Management, determine, and communicate eligibility, and coordinate with other existing treatment providers.
- Provide education and training to staff and clients about Contingency Management and how it is being implemented at HR 360.
- Complete all necessary enrollment procedures and documentation for CM participants.
- Provide orientation and guidance to CM participants, and coordinate with treatment staff to ensure collaboration on CM services.
- Collect urine analysis samples and input results into the designated database.
- Ensure clients are seen according to the program schedule, and that visits are separated by at least 72 hours (e.g., Monday and Thursday, or Tuesday and Friday) to minimize the chance that drug metabolites from the same drug use episode will be detected in more than one UDT.
- Deliver incentives and/or supports the delivery of incentives as needed.
- Regularly meet with CM participants to discuss progress and goals.
- Collaborate with clients to work towards rehabilitation goals.
- Seek clinical consultation throughout the treatment episode, especially when encountering new and/or high-risk clinical circumstances.
- Maintain frequent communication with the treatment teams, and engage in regular consultations, clinical team and case conferences, and plan development meetings.
- Deliver services in outpatient, residential, or field depending on assignments and/or client needs.
- Meet expected service hour performance expectations.
- Provide translation services as needed (if applicable).
Clinical Documentation:
- Write and complete all progress notes within seventy-two hours of service delivery.
- Maintain compliance with due dates for all clinical documentation.
- Enter results of drug tests upon completion to ensure timely receipt of the incentive by the
- patient.
- Documentation must be maintained in compliance with agency policy and procedures, HIPAA, 42-CFR and other standards to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Actively participates in individual supervision.
- Communicate collaboratively with all members of the behavioral health team including medical, mental health, psychiatry, substance use disorder, and other staff.
- Complete all assigned training and Relias training in a timely manner.
- Arrange work schedule in accordance with the agency’s needs.
- Attend regular staff meetings and other meetings as assigned.
- Read emails daily and respond when appropriate.
Productivity and Coverage Responsibilities:
- Must achieve service delivery goals as set forth by the program requirements.
- May be required to meet service delivery goals at other Santa Clara County Behavioral Health programs.
- Ensures coverage during absences or unplanned events by coordinating with team members and management.
- Adjusts workload as necessary to ensure uninterrupted service delivery, including stepping in to provide support during peak demand times or staff shortages.
- Adheres to the program’s scheduling protocols to maintain appropriate client-to-provider ratios.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Credentials, and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- AOD registration from an approved certifying agency (CAADE, CCAPP, CADTP).
- Experience working with clients experiencing substance use issues.
