The Integrated Care Center Clinic is a federally qualified health centers that provide primary care, behavioral health, addiction treatment, psychiatry, dental care, and more. We provide care to those most in need including those who are suffering from homelessness, mental illness, substance use, mental illness, and chronic medical conditions. We provide team based care in an integrated care setting. Under the direction of the Dental Director, the Registered Dental Assistant Lead will play a key role in the overall efficiency of the clinics’ Registered Dental Assistants (RDAs)/Dental Assistants (DAs). In addition to the duties of an RDA, the RDA Lead is expected to assist the agency with day-to-day functions, which includes patient scheduling, training of staff, interns, volunteers, and ensure compliance with clinic policy and procedures. The RDA Lead serves as the main point of contact for RDA and DA team, monitoring and evaluating established workflows and deliverables, quality assurance and improvement projects, and mitigating client access needs and issues. The RDA Lead works in coordination with the Dental Director, Dentists, RDA/DAs, Access Coordinator Manager, Call Center Manager, and Director of Operations to ensure efficient clinic flow and provide comprehensive dental care to Healthright360's patient population. The RDA Lead must be knowledgeable in all dentistry procedures, clinic infection control procedures, cleaning and sterilization of instruments, tray setup and materials, dental workflow, scheduling appointments, electronic health records, provide leadership and execute clear goals as outlined by Dental Director to RDA staff.
Lead Responsibilities:
Serve as RDA/DA point of contact for day to day operations. Lead daily clinic flow for RDA/DA. Manage supply inventory, stock and organization of supplies. Address equipment issues in a timely manner and oversee equipment repair. Monitor the flow of laboratory cases. Lead staff meetings in coordination with Dental Director. Train RDA/DA staff and oversee safety and quality of care delivered. Assist Dental Director with interviews for RDA/DA staff. Complete regular supervisory check ins and provide Dental Director with feedback and recommendations for RDA/DA performance evaluations. Work with dental director to ensure that dental clinic is compliant with HIPAA, OSHA, federal and state regulations.
Dental Assistant Responsibilities:
Assist in the provision of high-quality care within the scope of service consistent with accepted standards of care for dental assistants. In additional to duties allowed on the Dental Assisting Table of Permitted Duties published by Dental Board of California, but not limited to the following, make temporary crowns, place sealants, coronal polish, place temporary restorations, adjust dentures, take radiographs using digital technology. Provide active chairside assistance to the Dentist and anticipates the providers’ needs. Assist in transition of care and referrals to and from the dental clinic. At the conclusion of patient care, assist the patient, clear the work site, and prepare for the next patient. Maintain knowledge of sterilization room procedures, workflows infection control and OSHA requirements.
Education, Certification, and Experience
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid BLS certification.
- Radiation Safety Certificate (X-ray license).
- 8 Hour Infection Control certificate.
- Registered Dental Assisting Certification.
- Pit and Fissures Sealants Certification.
Desired
- 1 year of experience in leadership role
- Bilingual in the threshold languages of our population (example: Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese
